Bio-Prototyping

We do all kinds of cutting-edge research and bio-prototyping here at Kultiva.

Do you need us to design the DNA required for a specific project, such as producing a protein in a plant? Expressing DNA in a mouse? Or putting bacteria or fungi to good use in a novel way?

We’re a fully certified research facility, and we’ll help bring your idea to life.

Here’s a taste of what we do.

Plants

Humanity’s relationship with the plant kingdom runs deep. Plants have provided medicines, delivered nourishment, and formed the structures of our homes for thousands of years. Since the agricultural revolution, we’ve been selectively breeding plants that fit our needs—and genetic technology is the natural culmination of that drive.

Our scientists can put new genes into any plant species and have them express it stably. We can bio-prototype plants that are:

  • Fast-growing and carbon-hungry, designed to reduce atmospheric carbon
  • Resistant to diseases, pests, or toxins without the need for spraying chemicals
  • Higher Yields up to 60% higher yields
  • Stunning and aesthetic—with whatever colored leaves and flowers you’d like (we can even make plans that glow!)
  • Optimized for things like photosynthesis, lumber production, and reforestation
  • Designed to Heal, producing inexpensive, effective antivenom for snake bites and other treatments
  • Serve some novel purpose we have yet to discover (tell us what you have in mind!)

We take extensive the precautions to ensure biosafety. As a default, our plants are sterile to avoid uncontrolled spreading. Instead of breeding, you can easily propagate a new species from cuttings or tissue culture.

Bacteria & Fungi

The future of manufacturing is biological. Genetic technology allows us to construct organisms, like bacteria and yeasts, that go on to manufacture all sorts of different chemicals and reagents quickly and scalably. With Kultiva’s GenTech, we will help create “biofactories” that produce all kinds of novel compounds, from new enzymes, to pigments, to pharmaceuticals.

Tell us what kind of substance you are interested in producing, and we will work with you to design a feasible approach to creating your own scalable biofactory.

Mammals

Subheading

Kultiva’s trained scientists conduct humane research on mammalian GenTech with a full animal facility and veterinarians on staff. We work with mammalian cell cultures, mice, guinea pigs, and a variety of other animals. We have a variety of genetic and behavioral tests to gather research on life-changing gene therapy.

One of our most interesting projects involving mammalian GenTech is directed toward life extension—a nascent field that one day could take you and your family well into the next century.

Novoforestry Consultation

Enhanced Agroforestry that Supports Local Economies

At Kultiva, we’re helping to create economically viable, biodiverse ecosystems by genetically enhancing trees that grow 50% faster, photosynthesize more efficiently, and require fewer nutrients to survive.

We specifically focus on productive crops, such as lumber, palm oil, and agricultural crops. That way, these agroforests can support the people living nearby.

What’s more? Our plants can withstand intense heat and drought, create their own fertilizer, and attract animals and pollinators—helping these forests and ecosystems rebound with life. These agroforests can then indefinitely support local economies and indegenous societies.
